Clint Eastwood. Bradley Cooper. These two names were enough to make me interested in the movie "The Mule". An IMDB rating of 7.1/10 was just an icing on the cake.
The movie is based on the real life story of Mr. Leo Sharp, a WWII veteran, which I came to know from the closing credits of the movie. The story talks about how a war veteran became the most successful drug mule for a drug cartel Though the movie is not a war movie, the pivot character played by Mr. Eastwood kindles the glimpses of a warrior spirit on multiple instance.
In line with his recent movies, Eastwood portrays a lone wolf, who also seems to be a late bloomer, as clearly indicated by another character in the movie itself. Cooper's character does not have much to do in the movie, he is just a pleasant addition to the cast. Another interesting fact is that Eastwood's real-life daughter plays his movie-daughter as well here.
Verdict: Don't go with a very high expectation, it is not a highly entertaining one. But the movie is warm, you can watch it just for Eastwood's performance. And if you pay close attention, it might also be a guide to set your personal priorities straight!
